The perfect recipe for when your sticky jam hands are ready to get creative! The lovely Nigella loves rice krispie cakes just as much as I do, so I've pinched her measurements here. Then it couldn't be easier, just melt everything together, pop it in the fridge and get ready to decorate!
Makes around 10 bugs
INGREDIENTS:
300g mini marshmallows
45g butter
180g rice krispies
1 and a half tbsp icing sugar
Decorations - mini pretzels, chocolate buttons, smarties etc whatever takes your fancy!
KIT LIST:
Microwave
Large microwavable bowl
METHOD:
Microwave your marshmallows and butter together for 1 minute, then give a good stir. Pop back in for 30s and stir again. If they’re not melted yet keep putting in for 30s at a time until they are, make sure you’re giving everything a good mix.
Put your rice krispies in a big mixing bowl and pour your melted marshmallow mixture over it, give everything a good mix then pop the bowl in the fridge for 10 mins to firm up.
After 10 minutes, take your mix out and start to shape into the bodies of your bugs. Put these on a plate and in the fridge again for 30 mins.
Now it’s time to decorate! Mix up your icing sugar with 1 tablespoon of water to make your glue and then start sticking on your decorations.
I find that pretzels work well as legs or antennae and chocolate buttons are great for eyes! Go crazy!
